Happiness What Is It For You?

How Do You Define Happiness?

It is defined differently by many.

Og Mandino says, “realize that true happiness lies within you. Waste no time and effort searching for peace and contentment and joy in the world outside. Remember that there is no happiness in having or in getting, but only in giving. Reach out. Share. Smile. Hug. Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself.”

Personally, I have been on the top of the world. Lived an awesome lifestyle by human standards but I also have experienced the opposite side of the spectrum.

There’s nothing bad about money, fame and things.

Just as long as we don’t get too attached to it that we start to measure our happiness on external things.

What’s worse? Is when we begin to compromise our values and integrity that we forget what is important and who we are along the way

Some define happiness like these:

Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.

Denis Waitley

The secret of happiness is the realization
that life is a gift, not a right. – Author Unknown

For every minute you are angry you lose sixty seconds of happiness.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

If we realize and try to live all that were said – we’ll be much happier and giving people.

We will look at life more sacred and treat people with more respect.

Value others not on what they can give or do for us but based on who they are in spite of their imperfections.

They are part of God’s wonderful creation.

So God must love them too.

Happiness is a gift, a grace…

But is also a choice…

“It’s an attitude.”

I believe that…

“In every cloud there’s a silver lining.”

I believe that…

“Life always has a way of humbling us that is why I always depend on God on the things I cannot control and depend on myself on the things I do.”

I believe that…

“Health is wealth.”

I believe that…

“What we dwell upon or focus on most of the time – is what we will truly experience more in life…. most of the time.”

I believe that…

“Without faith it is impossible to please God.”

“And without God there can be no hope nor life…”

I believe that…

Obedience opens the Gates of Heaven for blessings. It’s the “key” to God’s heart and have God’s favor in our life. Just like Abraham… Without obedience, we cannot say we truly love God.

Jesus said, “If you love me, obey my commandments..” John 14:15

I am reblogging this wonderful article from Master of life in earth, sea and sky about Love and Obedience. Thank you.

master of life in earth, sky and sea

If there are ever two misunderstood, widely misused and abused, it has to be these two words – love and obey.

With that, we have God asking us to do both.

Without love there cannot be obedience, no happiness for the soul.  For a heart destitute of the love for God, is empty of anything good and miserable.

Without obedience there cannot be a love for God.  We are a headstrong, selfish, and controlling people, prone to rebellion, and violently addicted to placing every and anything as God in our lives as opposed to God.  We always run imminent risk of being seduced by other religions and can’t seem to shake the characteristics of our lifestyle we just left when we made our decision to serve God.

Love will work in obedience, and that only is acceptable obedience which flows from a principle of love.

God modelled it.  God loved…

He can only fill our cup when we are not full of ourselves*

To receive – we must BELIEVE*

In His Time, in His Way – not ours*

To be forgiven – we must forgive*

Letting go is trusting in the Lord’s goodness & faithfulness. It becomes difficult when we loose sight of this truth.

In humility, acknowledging that we can’t do it on our own.

By faith, believing in not what we see or know, or how big our troubles are – but standing on God’s promises in His Word

It’s not a “passive surrender” but a “dynamic surrender” on the Power and Love of our God our Savior Jesus Christ.

Because we know God does not lie. God’s WORD says,

As the rain and the snow
come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
so is my WORD that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it

Isaiah 55:11-12

The measure of God’s Love and Mercy is everlasting and new every morning.

But God’s Power in and on us depends on the degree on how much we allow God to be part of our lives*

If we want to understand and know more about God then we should  start reading the Scriptures every day. It’s like learning about something or someone*

Since it’s the Lenten season, a great way to know more about Him is to watch the movie the “Passion of Christ.” That is what God is all about***

God is always there even we are not*

GOD LOVES YOU***

God Is The Healer

He revealed Himself to His people as Jehovah-Rapha (The Lord your Healer, Exod 15:26).
He wants to heal those who are sick and hurting. Give Him the opportunity to do so by
coming to Him in prayer based on His revealed Word (will).

Jesus Paid A Price For Our Healing
Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses) and carried our sorrows (pains); yet
we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our

transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was
upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:4,5

Healing was purchased in the atonement. It is as available as salvation.
He bore our sins and penalty so that we don’t have to. In the same way,
He bore our sicknesses and diseases so that we don’t have to.

Is It God’s Will To Heal?
Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins,
might live for righteousness– by whose stripes you were healed. 1 Pet 2:24

It is not a question anymore. He has already done it. It is past tense.
All that is left is “receiving” it.

We Are To Release God’s Kingdom (Rule And Reign) On Earth
Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:10
Jesus instructed us to pray and release God’s Kingdom (His will) on earth. Once you
know what God’s will is, you can pray with confidence.
Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His
will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we
have the petitions that we have asked of Him. 1 John 5:14,15

God Is The Author And Source Of Life
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.
I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. John 10:10

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power,
who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the
devil, for God was with Him. Acts 10:38

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father
of lights, with Whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. James 1:17

God is the author and source of life, health, and all that is good.
We have an enemy that desires to destroy us, whom we are to resist
steadfast in the faith. (James 4:7; 1 Peter 5:8,9)

As believers we can lay hands on the sick (our part) and they
will recover (God’s part). (Mark 16:17)

Scriptures On Healing
Exod 15:26
“If you diligently heed the voice of the LORD your God and do what
is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all
His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which
I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the LORD who heals you.”

Exod 23:25-26
So you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water.
And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. No one shall suffer miscarriage
or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.

Ps 103:1-5
Bless the LORD, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name!
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits:
Who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases,
Who redeems your life from destruction, who crowns you with
loving kindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth
with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Ps 105:37
He also brought them out with silver and gold, and there was none
feeble among His tribes.

Ps 107:20
He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

Prov 3:5-8
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own
understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall
direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD
and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones.

Prov 4:20-22
My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings.
Do not let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of
your heart; For they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.

Isa 53:4-5
Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses) and carried our sorrows (pains); yet
we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our
transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was
upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

Matt 4:23-24
And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of
the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.
Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who
were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were
demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them.

Matt 8:16-17
When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And
He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be
fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took
our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.”

Matt 9:35
Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their
synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every
sickness and every disease among the people.

Mark 1:40-42
Then a leper came to Him, imploring Him, kneeling down to Him and saying to Him, “If
You are willing, You can make me clean.” And Jesus, moved with compassion, put out
His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.” As soon as
He had spoken, immediately the leprosy left him, and he was cleansed.

Luke 6:17-19
And He came down with them and stood on a level place with a crowd of His disciples
and a great multitude of people from all Judea and Jerusalem, and from the seacoast of
Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear Him and be healed of their diseases, as well as those
who were tormented with unclean spirits. And they were healed. And the whole multitude
sought to touch Him, for power went out from Him and healed them all.

Acts 5:16
Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people
and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed.

Acts 10:38
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with
power, Who went about doing good, and healing all who were oppressed
by the devil, for God was with Him.

1 Pet 2:24
who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having
died to sins, might live for righteousness– by whose stripes you were healed.
