When we were young we think if it’s good then, it must be good.

And if something is bad, then, it must be bad.

But as we mature, we learn that not everything that is good, is good.

And not everything that is bad, is bad.

A good example of this is…       food……..

Your favorite dessert.

Or vitamins.

If we consume these or do exercise more than you should or too much of it. It’s not so good anymore right?

Whatever it is. We learn from experience that anything done in excess is not good.

Now, I don’t know about you. But in my family and relatives I don’t know of anyone who eats this fruit, “GRAPEFRUIT.”

They say it’s really bad. It is so bitter tasting. Even if you find the sweetest grapefruit out there no one will eat it in our family. Because of it’s bitterness… .

But guess what.

As far as I know. It is the fruit that has most benefits. Google it.

So not everything that is bad… is bad!

So are “trials in life.”

Trials I believe “prepare” us to the next level. The next opportunity. Where we are supposed to be…or meant to be…..

But it’s how we respond to them is what’s important and critical.

If we respond the right way.

It gives us wisdom, strength and character.

Life doesn’t play favorites neither does God.

“You reap what you sow.”

Everyone is dealt a deck of cards differently.

How do we respond?

Will we be ready? Or will life find us pouting…. whining in self pity….. or blaming something or someone else?

Growing up there was this song that has great lyrics about “trials.”

It has really touched my life and helped me along the way.

Today, I would like to share it with you.

I hope it ENCOURAGES you.

Trials makes us stronger.
It builds character.
Embrace it
you will gain wisdom.
There are no trials we can’t overcome

For as long as we can breathe… “there’s hope.”

There’s a video of the song you can listen to…

The lyrics however are a bit different from the original.

So here goes…. titled: THANK YOU, LORD

PS. I do eat Grapefruit 🙂

“The desire for God is written in the human heart, because man is created by God and for God; and God never ceases to draw man to himself.

Only in God will we find the truth and

happiness we never stop searching for:

The dignity of man rests above all on the fact that he is called to communion with God.

This invitation to converse with God is addressed to man as soon as he comes into being.

For if man exists, it is because God has created him through love, and through love continues to hold him in existence.

He cannot live fully according to truth unless he freely acknowledges that love and entrusts himself to his creator.”
(From The
Catechism of the Catholic Church and Gaudium et Spes)

Lord I come, I confess
Bowing here I find my rest
Without You I fall apart
You’re the one that guides my heart

Where sin runs deep, Your grace is more
Where grace is found is where You are
And where You are Lord I am free
Holiness is Christ in me

Take the time to be still before Him

Your spirit lifted up….      your soul refreshed……    your body re-energized…..

Open yourself to Him

To receive Him…..

And let God breathe new life in you***

The Bible is the most ever sold book and more often never read or forgotten.

It boggles the imagination.

If people only knew the power, the blessings, the wisdom and guide for our everyday living the Book contains…

People will read it 24/7.

But the Book can only work by “faith.”

Not logic or any rationale, or philosophy or physics.

For God is Spirit.

Ask God’s Spirit (Holy Spirit) to enlighten you and give you clarity and understanding.

Before you begin to read His Word on the keys to a long life and prosperity…..

Invite the Holy Spirit to renew your mind and your spirit

that you may experience God in a whole new way.

A personal way. 🙂

Keys To A Long Life & Prosperity

My son, do not forget my teaching,
but keep my commands in your heart,
2 for they will prolong your life many years
and bring you peace and prosperity.

 3 Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
   bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 Then you will win favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man.

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.[a]

 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the LORD and shun evil.
8 This will bring health to your body
   and nourishment to your bones.

9 Honor the LORD with your wealth
   with the firstfruits of all your crops;
10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing,
and your vats will brim over with new wine.

11 My son, do not despise the LORD’s discipline,
and do not resent his rebuke,
12 because the LORD disciplines those he loves,
as a father the son he delights in.

The Bible is our “Living Manual.” Our “Life Saver.”

Read it often. As you do, God will reveal things to you that you never thought possible. The more you read… the more He becomes real and personal to you.

And I promise you this….

He will bless you more than you can ever know or imagine….

In our journey in life, no matter how successful we may be, or happy, or satisfied. We are not exempt or can escape from the wear and tear and storms of life. The scars, the bruises. The valleys and the mountains. The heartaches and the tears life brings. We are all vulnerable even at our best.

The good news is that God promises that if we trust Him with a childlike faith, where we surrender the things we cannot control. Then, life becomes easier. Problems may not disappear the way we want them. But we can go and face them with such wonderful peace.

And he exhorts us to surrender everything to Him. He said,

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”  Matthew 11:28-31

We know that through faith everything’s going to work out just fine.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”  Romans 8:28

So let’s not allow the pettiness of the day steal our joy.

And if you have problems as huge as the Himalayas. Let it not take away your peace.

Fear not…..

For He is with you… till the end of time.

Please take a moment to listen to this wonderful song. “Lift Up Your Hands.”

Let it lift you up.

Comfort you.

And reassure you of His love and care.

Let’s give praise and thanks to the One and only One God.

Here are the lyrics to the song before you hear the song…

Life is not all that bad, my friend, hmmm
If you believe in yourself
If you believe there’s Someone
Who walks through life without you
You’ll never be alone
Just learn to reach out,
And open your heart
Lift up hands to God,
And He’ll show you the way.

And He said, “Cast your burdens upon Me
Those who are heavily laden,
Come to Me, all of you who are tired
Of carrying heavy loads,
For the yoke I will give you is easy
And My burden is light,
Come to Me and I will give you rest.”

When you feel the world
Is tumblin’ down on you,
And you have no one
That you can hold on to,
Just face the rising sun
And you’ll see hope,
And there’s no need to run
Lift up your hands to God,
And He’ll make you feel all right.

On my last blog, I said I want to share my life experiences with the power of praise.

In my own prayer life, I firmly believe that when you set aside time for praise, worship & adoration towards God, it transforms the whole fiber of a person.

Growth in your prayer life, graced with a grateful heart, a deepening of one’s faith, an increased desire to meditation and contemplation centered on God’s presence. “A life surrendered to Him.” An enormous “love of God.”

These are what happens to one whose prayer life is filled with “praise” towards Him.

It all started when I was 18 years of age.

In my Catholic Christian journey, I learned about the importance of praise. Through the power of the Holy Spirit is where it all began. On my blog the “Praise is Power” https://mimentovivere.wordpress.com/2012/04/22/praise-is-power/ I wrote that “praise opens the doors of heaven of blessings in your life.”

When I learned and began praising God for everything. It actually deepened my prayer life. I set aside time to do that. Ten minutes grew to twenty, to thirty, to an hour…  It grew & grew on me.

That no matter what happens in life I just kept praising God. because I knew my life is in “great hands.”

So you might ask, if I loose my job do I still praise God? The answer is “yes.”

In the natural, it sounds crazy!

But until you have experienced such tremendous grace and conversion it is hard to explain totally.

That power or favor or anointing from God came to me not because I deserve it. But because my life was so filled praise for Him and a life surrendered to Him no matter what’s going on in life.

God said, Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.  And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it. John 14:12-14

Here are examples of miracles and mini miracles that I have experienced over the years.

When I was 18, a neighbor of ours wanted me to pray over his left deaf ear. That was Dec 31st I remember. He said, hey Victor, I heard that you can heal! Can you heal me? “I don’t heal Chris, God does! I am just an instrument” was my reply.

Can you pray over me? He asked.

I have no idea why I said this. Looking back I know it was God. His Holy Spirit. I said, OK, come back in seven days and I will be glad to.

He did.

And he was healed.

Some were healed of cancer. Some with other diseases.

A example of God’s favor, one time, I didn’t have money to pay for rent because I was laid off. But the night before “rent day.” I trusted God and just kept praising Him. When I woke up the next morning. I had so much PEACE that everything is going to be alright.

Then, the phone rang. It was a friend of mine and we exchange pleasantries and shared with her about my dilemma. But added that I had this tremendous peace about the whole situation.

She then proceeded to say, “Victor, I think God wanted me to call you and pay for your rent today.”

She did. Actually, GOD did!

That’s what I said, “WOW!”

Isn’t God amazing?

Then, there was this time I had no insurance (health) I was in total pain one Sunday morning.

OMG. It feels like giving birth!

I know, I know… I am man.. LOL!

But it was so painful!!!!!!!!!!! I don’t know how else to describe it. Pardon me 🙂

No one was home. And since I am legally blind. I don’t drive.

I had to call 911.

There I stayed for 5 days. Thankfully, no surgery needed.

Upon my discharge, I knew I will be billed big time.

Before leaving the hospital I asked for my bill. Then, they said, not to worry, they will bill me. They gave me a range of $5,000

So I said okie dokie. Thanks.

A week passed.

A month.

A year.

Five years. Ten years.

It’s been 24 years now.

No Bill

PRAISE GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a MIRACLE!!!!!!

Yes, the power of praise.

Yes, it is right and just to praise God for what He has done for us. If you don’t know how to praise God. Start to meditate on the wonderful things God has done in your life and your loved ones.

Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you how to pray in spirit and in truth… to praise… worship…….   adore……

Read books on Praising.

There’s a book I highly recommend that is called “Prison to Praise by Merlin R. Carothers

I pray that you may be filled with the Holy Spirit. His gifts and fruits of the Spirit. To edify you, guide you, teach you a God centered prayer life filled with praise, worship & adoration…….

Praise is power. Praise means to tell a person is good, worth, value of a thing or a person. To complement. To speak well of. To worship God in words or song.

In the early years of my Christian Catholic walk. I was taught that when you praise God often, it opens the doors of heaven of blessings in your life. A biblical example is found in Acts 16:23-26 “After they had been severely flogged, they were thrown into prison, and the jailer was commanded to guard them carefully.  When he received these orders, he put them in the inner cell and fastened their feet in the stocks.  But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of PRAISE to God, and the prisoners were listening to them;  and suddenly there came a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison house were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were unfastened.”

Isn’t that power? The power of praise.

When someone give us praise, complements often, don’t we tend to have a soft spot for that person?  Don’t we?

Say for example if you were a lady. A friend of yours saw you at the mall and approached you. “Hey Jane, your hair looks so beautiful where did you have your hair done?”  And you say, “oh, you’re so sweet! I was so in a hurry this morning my hair is still wet I didn’t even had the chance to blow dry my hair. Thank you sweetie!”

The next time you see that same friend she says, “Jane, wow! Your face looks bright and shiny and pretty! What brand do you use?” And you say, “oh, you always say the nicest things to me. I was so frantic this morning I haven’t washed my face even. You made my day!”

When some says those kind of things to you, flatters you, don’t you like that person even more?

That is the best metaphor I can think of.

When we praise God no matter what happens in our life, God’s grace and favor saves us, protects us and delivers us. It doesn’t mean, we are not going to experience hardships in life. It simply means He will intervene in our behalf. Though obedience ultimately unlocks the blessings, “praise, adoration and worship” is they key to God’s “heart and mercy.”

Praising God in words or songs helps us to worship Him “in spirit and in truth. It deepens our prayer life. We become more sensitive to the Holy Spirit‘s promptings. It softens our heart of stone to a heart of flesh.”

We also experience more peace…. joy…. strength in difficulties and adversities…. and increases our faith. And most importantly, it deepens our love for Him.

How much time do you spend in asking God for something? Compare that to the time you spend in praising Him.

In your prayer life, I highly encourage you to spend more time in praise and worship. You will see a huge difference in your life.

Someone said, “praising people are powerful people.”

“When you praise God it makes the devil tremble.”

On my next blog, I will share with you my own life experiences with the “power of praise.”

Have an amazingly blessed day 🙂
