Got an email from my sister a few days ago. It was regarding “why go to Church?”

If you go to Church you’ll love reading this. If you don’t go to Church, I highly encourage that you do. There’s nothing to loose. It doesn’t cost you a penny either!

So here goes…

Why Go to Church?
If you’re spiritually alive, you’re going to love this!
If you’re spiritually dead, you won’t read it!
If you’re spiritually curious, there is still hope!

A Church goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained that it made no sense to go to church every Sunday. “I’ve gone for 30 years now,” he wrote, “and in that time I have heard something like 3,000 sermons.

But for the life of me, I can’t remember a single one of them. So, I think I’m wasting my time and the pastors are wasting theirs by giving sermons at all.”
This started a real controversy in the “Letters to the Editor” column, much to the delight of the editor. It went on for weeks until someone wrote this clincher:
“I’ve been married for 30 years now. In that time my wife has cooked some 32,000 meals. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for a single one of those meals. But I do know this. They all nourished me and gave me the strength I needed to do my work.
If my wife had not given me these meals, I would be physically dead today. Likewise, if I had not gone to church for nourishment, I would be spiritually dead today!”
When you are DOWN to nothing…… God is UP to something!
Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and receives the impossible!
Thank God for our physical AND our spiritual nourishment!

When we were young we think if it’s good then, it must be good.

And if something is bad, then, it must be bad.

But as we mature, we learn that not everything that is good, is good.

And not everything that is bad, is bad.

A good example of this is…       food……..

Your favorite dessert.

Or vitamins.

Exercise.

If we consume these or do exercise more than you should or too much of it. It’s not so good anymore right?

Whatever it is. We learn from experience that anything done in excess is not good.

Now, I don’t know about you. But in my family and relatives I don’t know of anyone who eats this fruit, “GRAPEFRUIT.”

They say it’s really bad. It is so bitter tasting. Even if you find the sweetest grapefruit out there no one will eat it in our family. Because of it’s bitterness… .

But guess what.

As far as I know. It is the fruit that has most benefits. Google it.

So not everything that is bad… is bad!

So are “trials in life.”

Trials I believe “prepare” us to the next level. The next opportunity. Where we are supposed to be…or meant to be…..

But it’s how we respond to them is what’s important and critical.

If we respond the right way.

It gives us wisdom, strength and character.

Life doesn’t play favorites neither does God.

“You reap what you sow.”

Everyone is dealt a deck of cards differently.

How do we respond?

Will we be ready? Or will life find us pouting…. whining in self pity….. or blaming something or someone else?

Growing up there was this song that has great lyrics about “trials.”

It has really touched my life and helped me along the way.

Today, I would like to share it with you.

I hope it ENCOURAGES you.

Trials makes us stronger.
It builds character.
Embrace it
you will gain wisdom.
There are no trials we can’t overcome

For as long as we can breathe… “there’s hope.”

There’s a video of the song you can listen to…

The lyrics however are a bit different from the original.

So here goes…. titled: THANK YOU, LORD

THANK YOU, LORD,
FOR THE TRIALS THAT COME MY WAY,
IN THAT WAY I CAN GROW EACH DAY
AS I LEARN TO LIVE.

THANK YOU, LORD,
FOR THE PATIENCE THOSE TRIALS BRING,
IN THE CROSS THERE IS GROWING,
AS I LEARM TO SHARE.

BUT IF YOU’RE HASTY TO CHANGE MY WAYS
TO PUT MY HUMAN NATURE DOWN,
PLEASE LET YOUR SPIRIT TAKE CONTROL
OF ALL I DO.

CAUSE WHEN THOSE TRIALS COME
MY HUMAN NATURE SHOUT THE THINGS I DO
AND YOUR SOFT PROMPTINGS CAN BE
EASILY IGNORED.

BUT I THANK YOU, LORD,
FOR THE VICTORY THOSE TRIALS BRING,
TO SURRENDER EVERYTHING;
LIFE IS SO WORTHWHILE.

AND I THANK YOU, LORD,
FOR IN MY CROSS IS YOUR EMBRACE,
IN THE DARKNESS I SEE YOUR FACE,
FOR IN YOU I BELONG.

THANK YOU, LORD

PS. I do eat Grapefruit 🙂

In our journey in life, no matter how successful we may be, or happy, or satisfied. We are not exempt or can escape from the wear and tear and storms of life. The scars, the bruises. The valleys and the mountains. The heartaches and the tears life brings. We are all vulnerable even at our best.

The good news is that God promises that if we trust Him with a childlike faith, where we surrender the things we cannot control. Then, life becomes easier. Problems may not disappear the way we want them. But we can go and face them with such wonderful peace.

And he exhorts us to surrender everything to Him. He said,

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”  Matthew 11:28-31

We know that through faith everything’s going to work out just fine.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”  Romans 8:28

So let’s not allow the pettiness of the day steal our joy.

And if you have problems as huge as the Himalayas. Let it not take away your peace.

Fear not…..

For He is with you… till the end of time.

Please take a moment to listen to this wonderful song. “Lift Up Your Hands.”

Let it lift you up.

Comfort you.

And reassure you of His love and care.

Let’s give praise and thanks to the One and only One God.

Here are the lyrics to the song before you hear the song…

Life is not all that bad, my friend, hmmm
If you believe in yourself
If you believe there’s Someone
Who walks through life without you
You’ll never be alone
Just learn to reach out,
And open your heart
Lift up hands to God,
And He’ll show you the way.

And He said, “Cast your burdens upon Me
Those who are heavily laden,
Come to Me, all of you who are tired
Of carrying heavy loads,
For the yoke I will give you is easy
And My burden is light,
Come to Me and I will give you rest.”

When you feel the world
Is tumblin’ down on you,
And you have no one
That you can hold on to,
Just face the rising sun
And you’ll see hope,
And there’s no need to run
Lift up your hands to God,
And He’ll make you feel all right.

Need a little “pick me up?” And no can’t seem to help even your spouse? A friend or even Starbucks ain’t helping?

Sometimes, we go through life that only God can satisfy our thirst… lift us up….

comfort us….   give us peace……  and put a smile back in our face.

Here’s a song that I think might do that for you today.

Listen… enjoy……… & be blessed!

Be still, there is a healer
His love is deeper than the sea
His mercy, it is unfailing
His arms are fortress for the weak

I lift my hands to believe again
You are my refuge, You are my strength
As I pour out my heart
These things, I remember
You are faithful, God, forever

Be still, there is a river
That flows from Calvary‘s tree
A fountain for the thirsty
Pure grace that washes over me

Let faith arise.
Let faith arise

How do you know or measure someone’s love?

Well, we all know that if they accept us just the way we are. The good as well as the bad. Then, they must really love us.

But God did more than that.

He gave His very life to save us, heal us, deliver us from our troubles and so much more we can ever imagine. He really does in spite of our imperfections, our stubbornness, our pride and ingratitude towards Him.

He still loves YOU & me.

Wouldn’t you want to know more on what God’s promises are for you?

For your life….       For your future….

What He thinks about you…

It’s all in His Word.

Promises like, “your name is engraved on the palm of His Hand.”

– “He even knows the number of our very hair.”

– “He knows our thoughts before we even speak it.”

– “Whatever you ASK in my name if you BELIEVE and do NOT DOUBT you will RECEIVE.”

Those are a few out of so many of God’s promises for you and me.

The more you know about His Word and His promises the less fears & doubts you’ll have about Him, about your life and about yourself.

Here’s a compilation of God’s Promises I found on Youtube. Check out the video.

Take a few moments it will be worth it.

GOD will make SURE of that…***

Have a wonderful day enfolded in God’s loving embrace***

I believe that…

“In every cloud there’s a silver lining.”

I believe that…

“Life always has a way of humbling us that is why I always depend on God on the things I cannot control and depend on myself on the things I do.”

I believe that…

“Health is wealth.”

I believe that…

“What we dwell upon or focus on most of the time – is what we will truly experience more in life…. most of the time.”

I believe that…

“Without faith it is impossible to please God.”

“And without God there can be no hope nor life…”

I believe that…

“The more beauty you see in your life, the more your life becomes beautiful.”

My Lord, My God My Savior. All Praise and Glory to You.

In the quiet of the morning let me see your sweet loving face. Fill this place with your Holy Presence.

Let me make You the center of my thoughts….    the center of my life…

I give to You right now all of my thoughts that distracts me… thoughts of anxiety, doubts and fears…

Because Lord, sometimes… the wear and tear… the bruises of my life’s journey gets to me…

That I set my eyes off you…

Fill me with your Holy Spirit…. lead me to the right path You have laid out for me.

To reignite the “fire in my heart,” to love like you did, to forgive like I should. And live my life with “an attitude of gratitude.”

For You gave everything to me… “even your very life.”

Every day blessings upon blessings I can’t even count.
So let me walk into this world today with new enthusiasm and energy… a renewed faith and hope...

And love to share… to spread to the people around me. At home, at work and everywhere….  whether they deserve it or not. Because you loved me too even I don’t deserve it!

Thank You my sweet Jesus! Thank You for your Grace. Thank You for your Holy Spirit.

My heart is filled with joy…

I will praise You and worship You all the days of my life… forever and ever… AMEN.
