Got an email from my sister a few days ago. It was regarding “why go to Church?”

If you go to Church you’ll love reading this. If you don’t go to Church, I highly encourage that you do. There’s nothing to loose. It doesn’t cost you a penny either!

So here goes…

Why Go to Church?
If you’re spiritually alive, you’re going to love this!
If you’re spiritually dead, you won’t read it!
If you’re spiritually curious, there is still hope!

A Church goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained that it made no sense to go to church every Sunday. “I’ve gone for 30 years now,” he wrote, “and in that time I have heard something like 3,000 sermons.

But for the life of me, I can’t remember a single one of them. So, I think I’m wasting my time and the pastors are wasting theirs by giving sermons at all.”
This started a real controversy in the “Letters to the Editor” column, much to the delight of the editor. It went on for weeks until someone wrote this clincher:
“I’ve been married for 30 years now. In that time my wife has cooked some 32,000 meals. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for a single one of those meals. But I do know this. They all nourished me and gave me the strength I needed to do my work.
If my wife had not given me these meals, I would be physically dead today. Likewise, if I had not gone to church for nourishment, I would be spiritually dead today!”
When you are DOWN to nothing…… God is UP to something!
Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and receives the impossible!
Thank God for our physical AND our spiritual nourishment!

Yes!!! Let’s start our day RIGHT… or any day for that matter with a great, positive and HAPPY attitude!

It’s a new day. A new week.

Yesterday is gone and past.

You can never take back, what you said or done.

But you can certainly as easily

Get back on track and remind yourself how beautiful life is…  or can be!

New opportunities and it’s gifts and Grace

Are you struggling with something…?

Whatever it is…

Today, is your chance to CHANGE all that…

If it’s humanly possible. You can do it!

If it’s impossible. God CAN!

– Be creative.

– Enhance. Improve. Progress.

– Change course. Be flexible. Have a positive dialogue with yourself.

– Think out of the box. Step out of your comfort zone.

– Make a difference to someone’s day today

– Pause… sometime in the day even for a few moments to take a deep breath…. To appreciate the day!

If it’s not working out, “pause”  again… to get your composure back. Get your second wind. And ask for His “Grace” above.

– – Most importantly, don’t forget God in your every day life. Talk to Him anytime of the day. And ask Him for faith even as small as a mustard seed. You’ve heard haven’t you? His Word says, “if you have faith as small as a mustard seed. You can tell this mountain to move and it shall.”

For it is done according to thy faith.

“Life does not play favorites.” It only gives back… to us…  what we put in first. Not the other way around.

Get into the habit of filtering what you allow your mind to dwell upon most of the time. If you allow a lot of garbage, then, you will have a lot of garbage in your life.

Soar and fly like an eagle…. rest if you must at times. We all need them after all.

Keep on looking on what’s before you and not what’s behind you. Looking at yesterdays only purpose is to learn the lessons life is teaching us. It’s not suppose to make us bitter or angry or change who we are but to GROW.

Look more of what’s good in people and your life…

“The more beauty you see in your life, the more your life becomes beautiful.”

Sometimes it’s hard to give thanks when things don’t go our way.
Sometimes we may experience our own version of the “Agony of Gethsemane” in life.
We may even feel we don’t deserve what we are going through.
So when we do.
God wants us to “give thanks in all circumstances. for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 18
Let’s remind ourselves that God will not let us go through something we can’t handle or overcome.
His grace will always be sufficient to our needs.
It is when we loose sight of His goodness and His mercy, that we become discouraged;
It is when we focus on the weight of our circumstances instead of His amazing grace and the power of His resurrection that we experience doubts, hopelessness and sorrows.
Take comfort and hope when God says,
28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
God sent the Holy Spirit to be our Comforter and Counselor.
Our Guide and Sanctifier.
Seek the Spirit of God to enlighten you and guide you to His Truth and Will for your life.
If we continue to do good. Do what’s right in God’s eyes. Thank Him in all circumstances.
Then, in His Time……       in His Way…………
He will shower us with favor…..       with grace………
and blessings……………
For the Scripture says,
”For the Lord God is a Sun and Shield; the Lord bestows [present] grace and favor and [future] glory (honor, splendor, and heavenly bliss)! No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly” Psalms 84:11 (Amplified Bible version).

So let’s not loose heart or give up of being obedient in following God’s Word and in doing good in LOVE and in TRUTH. To honor God and give Him the Glory.

And let’s remind ourselves.
That when we are in a situation where we are tempted to complain, whine and grumble.
no matter how small or big it is,
deserving or not –
to “give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for us in Christ Jesus.”
Keep in mind that “NO GOOD THING will He WITHHOLDfrom those who walk uprightly.”

Think of prayers as blessings.

In every blessing there’s a door. In every door there are locks.

And to unlock those doors you need a key.

Here are the basic keys to in unlocking God‘s blessings. God answering our prayers.

1. FAITH – that does not DOUBT.

Mark 11:22-24

22 And Jesus *answered saying to them, “ Have faith in God. 23  Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him. 24 Therefore I say to you, all things for which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted you.

No matter how bleak a situation is. God says if we do not doubt in our hearts, and believe we receive what we asked for. Then, it shall be done according to thy faith.

11 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1

2. Obedience

1 John 3:22

“and whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight.”

God answers our prayers like any father would to His children.

No good parent rewards rebellious children.

And that is the same thing with God.

Disobedience or sin separates us from God’s love.

You can’t expect God to bless us if we don’t keep his commandments and do the things that please our Heavenly Father.

Secondly, God wants the best for His children. Sometimes, what we ask for is something that either won’t be good for us or God wants something better for us.

And in some cases, it’s not the right time for us to have what we prayed for. So He delays the timing of having what we want. The problem is we give up too easily. We pout like little kids at times.

God wants us to have a “childlike faith” and not a “childish attitude.”

3. Forgiveness

Matthew 18:23-35

23 “Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. 24 As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand bags of gold[h] was brought to him. 25 Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt.

26 “At this the servant fell on his knees before him. ‘Be patient with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.’ 27 The servant’s master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go.

28 “But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred silver coins.[i] He grabbed him and began to choke him. ‘Pay back what you owe me!’ he demanded.

29 “His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it back.’

30 “But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. 31 When the other servants saw what had happened, they were outraged and went and told their master everything that had happened.

32 “Then the master called the servant in. ‘You wicked servant,’ he said, ‘I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. 33 Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?’ 34 In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.

35 “This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart.

We loose God’s favor when we don’t forgive from the heart… we shall reap what we sow…. if we can’t forgive, we won’t be forgiven the Scripture says.

Someone said, “you have to be a forgiver, in order to be a receiver….”

4. Praising God

Praise, according to the Scriptures, is an act of our will that flows out of an awe and reverence for our Creator. Praise gives glory to God and opens us up to a deeper union with Him. It turns our attention off of our problems and on the nature and character of God Himself.

As we focus our minds on God and proclaim His goodness, we reflect His glory back to Him. The results can fill you with peace and contentment ( Isaiah 26:3) and transform your outlook on life.

Very simply, we praise God because He is worthy of our praise ( 1 Chron. 16:25; Rev. 5:11-14). He is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, the King of kings and Lord of lords. He is our Creator, Provider, Healer, Redeemer, Judge, Defender and much more. (From CBN.)

So if we praise God more often it brings favor, grace and blessings in our life and our household.

Yes, faith, obedience, forgiveness and praising God causes God’s heart to melt for his children.

The Keys to God answering our prayers.

When we were young we think if it’s good then, it must be good.

And if something is bad, then, it must be bad.

But as we mature, we learn that not everything that is good, is good.

And not everything that is bad, is bad.

A good example of this is…       food……..

Your favorite dessert.

Or vitamins.

If we consume these or do exercise more than you should or too much of it. It’s not so good anymore right?

Whatever it is. We learn from experience that anything done in excess is not good.

Now, I don’t know about you. But in my family and relatives I don’t know of anyone who eats this fruit, “GRAPEFRUIT.”

They say it’s really bad. It is so bitter tasting. Even if you find the sweetest grapefruit out there no one will eat it in our family. Because of it’s bitterness… .

But guess what.

As far as I know. It is the fruit that has most benefits. Google it.

So not everything that is bad… is bad!

So are “trials in life.”

Trials I believe “prepare” us to the next level. The next opportunity. Where we are supposed to be…or meant to be…..

But it’s how we respond to them is what’s important and critical.

If we respond the right way.

It gives us wisdom, strength and character.

Life doesn’t play favorites neither does God.

“You reap what you sow.”

Everyone is dealt a deck of cards differently.

How do we respond?

Will we be ready? Or will life find us pouting…. whining in self pity….. or blaming something or someone else?

Growing up there was this song that has great lyrics about “trials.”

It has really touched my life and helped me along the way.

Today, I would like to share it with you.

I hope it ENCOURAGES you.

Trials makes us stronger.
It builds character.
Embrace it
you will gain wisdom.
There are no trials we can’t overcome

For as long as we can breathe… “there’s hope.”

There’s a video of the song you can listen to…

The lyrics however are a bit different from the original.

So here goes…. titled: THANK YOU, LORD

PS. I do eat Grapefruit 🙂

The Bible is the most ever sold book and more often never read or forgotten.

It boggles the imagination.

If people only knew the power, the blessings, the wisdom and guide for our everyday living the Book contains…

People will read it 24/7.

But the Book can only work by “faith.”

Not logic or any rationale, or philosophy or physics.

For God is Spirit.

Ask God’s Spirit (Holy Spirit) to enlighten you and give you clarity and understanding.

Before you begin to read His Word on the keys to a long life and prosperity…..

Invite the Holy Spirit to renew your mind and your spirit

that you may experience God in a whole new way.

A personal way. 🙂

Keys To A Long Life & Prosperity

My son, do not forget my teaching,
but keep my commands in your heart,
2 for they will prolong your life many years
and bring you peace and prosperity.

 3 Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
   bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 Then you will win favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man.

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.[a]

 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the LORD and shun evil.
8 This will bring health to your body
   and nourishment to your bones.

9 Honor the LORD with your wealth
   with the firstfruits of all your crops;
10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing,
and your vats will brim over with new wine.

11 My son, do not despise the LORD’s discipline,
and do not resent his rebuke,
12 because the LORD disciplines those he loves,
as a father the son he delights in.

The Bible is our “Living Manual.” Our “Life Saver.”

Read it often. As you do, God will reveal things to you that you never thought possible. The more you read… the more He becomes real and personal to you.

And I promise you this….

He will bless you more than you can ever know or imagine….

We all go through struggles sometimes. Sometimes you don’t think you’re going to make it through. But when you feel all alone, remember God is always right there with you.

I like to think of God as a parent embracing their child in a dark room. A child’s imagination conjures up all kinds of troubles that lurk in the dark, but the parent holds the child close and speaks words of comfort to their little one.

God is like that with us, His children. We may feel like we’re in a dark room. We can’t see the future and we perceive only trouble is going to come. But God speaks to us softly and reminds us that He is always here with us, holding us close. So you don’t have to be afraid of your future because with God it’s always bright. Trust Him today.

If you wish to feel HIS presence, ask HIM. He said, “Ask and you shall receive. If you believe in your heart. Then whatever you ask in His name it will be yours” He also promised that even “if your father or mother leaves you, He will never leave you like orphans. So do not be afraid.” Worry not, about anything…

Allow yourself to trust HIM more…and HE will reassure you, every step of the way. He may do this through friends, family, strangers and circumstances. GOD may also put direct signs in your life. Look for them. HE will also use that little voice inside of you to communicate… listen for that inner voice and follow it. He said in Revelations ” Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.”

He is knocking at the door of your heart today.

Open your door…

Open… and read His Word.

For there He speaks to us.

To our heart and spirit.
